online virus scan
Greetings All
Recently deleted avg 8 as it was causing problems
Loaded avast
Bought a three payg mobile broadband usb modem and 1Gb per month.
Noticed that I keep getting a notification from avast the it has blocked (the most common one) something like "Dcom exploit"
This does not happen if I use my local library's wireless setup
???????
Cocerned that there may be somethoing nasty living on my laptop.
Any advice on a good online virus scanner please?

It runs on Java now so can be used with firefox too. Best idea is to run a cleaner (ATFCleaner is a good one) then disable Avast when the scan begins.
It wont remove anything, but it will produce a report which you cant post here and have it checked in case of false positives, which may be the issue in the first place.

Tried do download kaspersky via my mobile broadband - too slow! Will do it next tuesday when i visit the library.
Tried to run atfcleaner and it came up with a whole lot of low level warnings (findings?) but wouldn't do anything with them before I bought the programme - is this what i should do?
Any idea what is this "DCOM Exploit attack" that avast keeps blocking ?
many thanks
