Next door flooding
22 Answers
The house next door to me is vacant with a letting sign outside. There has been water gushing out a downstairs overflow (probably the kitchen) since at least 4pm yesterday when i first noticed it. I rang the letting agant first thing this morning and they said they would contact the owner. Got in from work 5pm ish and the water was still gushing out. Called back the letting aga#ents anbd they said they did contact the owner and though they came out this afternoon and would try them again. I am worried that if the house is flooding, that my own premises will be damaged.
Is there anyone else i can call to try to get into the house to turn the water off? Would it be advisable to contact united utilities??
TIA
(couldn't think of the correct category for this so posted it here, but if you could also suggest a category that may prove more fruitful, i will happily move my Q)

As for damage to my property, there is currently no sign *sigh of relief*, but my worry is that if its not sorted soon, there will be.
I believe in prevention rather than cure hence me trying to get it sorted 'before' something goes wrong (which admittedly it may not but there is alwys a chance). I do believe that if damage was to occur, then it would be sorted out sooner.
Oh well, just pray i am over reacting and it stops soon.

Knobby -the water is coming through where the bare wires are -so thats dangerous. The wires are bare as her ceiling is crumbling -the insurance cant do anything until its sourced-its a nightmare but we'll get there in the end.You know the work and money we put into that flat for her -its soul destroying.Never mind worse happens at sea.
