Setting up a home wireless network
I want to connect a pc running windows xp and a (new) wifi enabled dell laptop running windows vista.
I know I need a wireless router (I have been told by AOL that I need a Netgear DG834G but do I also need a wireless usb adaptor or can my pc be connected to the netgear router using an ethernet cable?
Any advice would be appreciated

assuming the PC has an ethernet hole
and the laptop will probably have both.eth and wi-fi
you're already set - check first ... 'cause if you do need a usb wifi adapter ... you are best getting the same brand as the router
if you want to get the two talking ... you'll need to enable file sharing in Vista
read the book .... setup the router ... enable wireless security (wep is good enough unless you work for mi5) AND mac filtering
use the network setup wizard in xp and vista ... easy
