VERY QUICK ANSWER!

WHAT DO INSTRUCTIONS SAY!!!

once your aware of whether that line is a where positive result would read or just a control window then check how long you left test for before reading it, sometimes if left too long evaporation lines appear.

if you are still unsure then maybe test in couple of days and use a digital one

i waited 3 minutes and it came up in the right place.. its just very light but the instructions show two examples of a positive test. one with a dark pink line and one with a light pink line
so it sounds to be like a very faint positive. It may just be that the pregnancy hormone isnt strong enough to show too much yet.

so are congratulations in order? :)
emma? you ok?

hopefully youre off celebrating :)
She'll maybe be taking another test?

I'm pretty sure a line is a line, whether it's faint or not. I hope it's congratulations x
congratulations emma, i hope a positive is what you were hoping for?

if I was you I would get another test and retest on the first pee tomorrow morning, or go see your nurse and get a test done with them
Yes!! My wife did the same thing the other day!

Congratulations!
Nice one Emma.

Lets hope the father sticks by you, your family support you, and you live in a nice area where you can bring the baby up.
hi Emma just read your other post too! So it is good news, congratulations you've made me very jealous!! Only joking I am trying for my 2nd child its only been for around 4 weeks but I did a test and it was negative. Its an awful feeling I have no patience and just want it to happen now! Anyway to answer your question I would definitely do another test to confirm it but usually even if a line is faint it means you are. Let us know and stay updated
celebrate without booze......as it will harm your unborn child.

Hey everyone.. thanks for comments. It is good news.. i'll go to my doctors tomorrow and have another test.
I'm already a dad so this is another mini O on the way. Congratulations emma.
Congratulations Emma and also Octy :o) xx
COngrats, and keep us posted ems.
I have a pregnancy testing kit in my bathroom and the instructions say "Two lines means you are probably pregnant (however, one line may be lighter than the other, they do not have to match)".

Therefore, your test is detecting pregnancy hormone in your urine, so you ARE pregnant. However, it is possible the line is light because there is not enough pregnancy hormone in your body yet because it is too early. Wait 3 days and do the test again and see if the line comes up faint again.

I too was puzzled by a faint line recently, on several pregnancy tests, even a weeks after my missed period. I say my GP and got a positive result but then miscarried at 8 weeks.

I asked a midwife about this and she told me that a faint line could mean that it is either too early to test or might indicate that the pregnancy is not established and therefore not producing enough hCG.

Best to speak to your GP. Good luck!
Very faint = boy

very distinct = girl
