As a gardener for a school, I'm looking to buy a range of plants on a budget (100?). Is the best way of doing this in terms of value and choice either from a garden centre or by mail order? If the latter any recommendations?
by mail order remember that you'll be paying the cost of postage too (unless its free for over a certain amount) if it damaged there's nothing you can do. at a garden centre you are able to examine the plant itself & see what condition it's in before you buy it.& you'll be saving on the freight costs
Why not grow from seed or from cuttings? You could also ask parents to donate some plants (compile a list of the types of plants you'd like). This wont cost anything and may even get the kids involved.
