Where i live 99% of the kids are pretty well behaved. However there is a minority group that seem to go around vandalising things, swearing, drinking etc.
Twice in less than 24 hours i have seen this group doing something they ought not to...
no point calling our community policing guy - he doesn't have much say and anyway arrives hours - or days - after the complaint.
I felt on both ocassions I should have said something but am ashamed to say I just walked by thereby possibly perpetuating their behaviour?
Part of me worres that if i say something i will be their next target but thats so cowardly of me :-( and it means their behaviour wins. :-(
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
Ignore?
Confront em?
I'd be interested in your opinions?

Our first reaction was to go out and confront them expecting them to run away but they stood there bold as brass "offering us out"
Now to me when half a dozen youths have the balls to stand their ground against 5 blokes aged between 25 and 45 that makes me think 2 things
1, They are probably p!ssed and on drugs and would probably not think twice about pulling a knife out on us
2, Why bother getting stabbed over some broken windows
The supervisor phoned the police and told them the situation and was told there was no cars in the area even though the police station was less than half a mile away
The next time this happened the police were phoned again and the same response..no cars, so the supervisor said that one of was waving a knife and within 2 minutes there were 3 cars full of coppers screaming down the road
The kids all legged it down the railway line next to our depot and one of the coppers said we did the right thing not to get involved with them as if one of us would have lamped one of them we would probably have been nicked
On the other hand another copper said if we did catch one of them and gave him a good kicking then they`d turn a blind eye to it
So the moral of the story is have a go if you are brave enough and either get stabbed, nicked or let off
BTW..if you you are in urgent need of the police in the early hours, don`t bother phoning 999, just wander down to your local Bagel shop you`ll find plenty of them there
