How much would it cost to book all these bands

ABC, Curiosity Killed The Cat, Johnny Hates Jazz and Cutting Crew
It was a sell out of 9000 selling @ �30 per ticket
Would would this kind of concert cost to set up?
Just a rough guess will do.

Some of these bands would probably charge (or their promoters rather) less than a grand. You shoudl takie into consideration that the organisers may be running at a loss regardless of ticket prices - just think of Woodstock.

Total ticket sales comes to �270,000 (over a quarter of a million).

Even if you paid the acts �10,000 each that would still leave a sizable profit (there would of course be other costs). �10k for a nights work is pretty decent money.

Basically I haven't a clue :) but 900 x �30 is a lot of dosh.

I spoke with the organiser of this event at another event - his company run a variety of sites and concerts - he explained that although this did very well for them - the concert with Katie Melua made a loss, as did an acoustric festival the folowing weekend, so it is very much swings and roundabouts.

I didn;t get into specifics, but I would guess that for every one of these that does the business, there is a katie melua who takes a financial bath, do it's certainly not the 'money for old rope' scenartio it may appear to be.

A 'B' list band (such as the winner / runner of of pop idol) will cost around �30,000 (I know the manager of a local racecourse and was recently discussing why they didn't get big names in.

Obviously, your names are 'C' list, but doubt very much that you would get them for a grand as kinetic suggests (if a band has 5 people in it, doubt they would go for �200 each).

�10,000 would be 'reasonable'.

You have to factor in many things :-

Price of acts
Venue hire
Equipment hire (lights,sound system,etc)
Printing tickets
Advertising
Staff
Security
Hotel accomodation
Merchandise
Insurance

Total cost - at least �200k or so.
