First time to Turkey-which area to stay ??
We have decided to holiday in Turkey this year due to weak euro, there will be 5 adults and one 9yr old, the adults are all around 30 yrs old.
Am quite confused on where to go as so much choice, we are looking for somewhere that has nightlife but not constant 24hr but we also want a place thats not too quiet.
After spending a lot of time on the internet I HAVE A HEADACHE, but we have decided against marmaris as it seems to clubby and touristy, not sure about bodrum as it has good bus links and we were told that although it has nightlife its quiter compared to gumbet.
We are going to rent a villa and really its just a base as although we want to have some nights out we also want to see some sights and explore, it would be nice if we had a waterpark nearby for the little one, we are not really beach people but 1 or 2 days on the beach is enough for us.
We have had lots of people suggest olu-deniz, side, fethiye too, but for a first holiday these seem not what we want. We also want to not be in a place where its expensive as we have had mixed opinions on places being more expensive than others.
Really appreciate everyones advice as I have spent lots of time online but dont seem to be getting any further. Cheers

Or, a few (bus) hours east along the coast, are some nice all-in chalet'd resorts with evening entertainment, and one is only a short boat ride from village/town of Fethiye although it was a while ago now, that we went there! Usual amenities, pool, bar, beach, great selection of food for each meal and snacks available during the day.

Hisaronu to be sure. Half way between Olu Deniz and Fethiye is enjoys an elevated position and is cooler than down by the sea. Sea is only 10mins on local Dolmus bus anyway.
Hisaronu is 40 mins from Dalaman airport and is a nice town with something for all. It is Brit but not Benidorm!
Plenty of villas for hire. I know as we have one there!
It really is a great place and a small waterpark too!
Nearby is paragliding, white water rafting, jeep safari (everyoneloves that one!) etc
Plenty of ancient sites which are fascinating.
All in all an ideal place for your first Turkey experience.
Your party would fit our pace too!
