I've never tried a cruise before as I have never really fancied it, but looking for something to do for a special occasion for 6 people, and have seen a mini cruise with Fred Olsen.
I hate the thought of formal evenings, but wonder if you have the choice of 'stuffy' restaurant, or mayb
e something a little more informal.
I have spoken to a few people who have been on a cruise before and they seemed to love it, but I still need a bit of convincing. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks - I hope you enjoy it. We may have to make a decision before that, but I'd be interested anyway.

Oh crumbs noknowledge - what was wrong???
I am only 103 so it probably wouldnt be suitable for me!
I will take a lot of convincing to go.

sanden- we're not going with Fred Olsen and I know someone locally who's going on our cruise and she's in her thirties I'm no spring chicken myself but would prefer a mix of people age wise!
Our neighbours always go with Freed Olsen, he's 81 and she's 79 (!)
Hi, noknowledge....I will let you off with that one....lol.

look at Tomson I been with them several tims you dont have to be formal with them if you dont want . there are lots of little bars and places to eat .
verry good value for money

google tomson cruise

and thay will send you a broacher
we cruise often in our forties been on p&o twice oceona you dont afto do formal their are other eating places on them nights . i felt the same at first but the formal night arnt as bad as you think i wore trousers and nice tops. dont afto wear evening gowns , princess cruises are the same .and they have some ships that do anytime dining.
Please, please, book a better line than Fred Olsen - this will not give you a very good impression. You need modern ships that are impressive to get hooked on cruising. Check out RCI
Agree with auntiebertie. You will get a much better 'cruise experience' and value for money with someone like Royal Carribean, Princess, Celebrity, Carnival, NCL or the less formal lines such as Island. If you need any info, you can spend hours getting advice and opinions at
