what's the most my car will tow?

Not sure if this is in the right section .
I have a mercedes a class and i would love to buy a caravan would this car pull it or would i have to get some thing bigger?
i have pulled a trailer tent using this car so what would be the most weight i could tow on a 1600 engine?

Max Towing Weight (braked) 1000 kg
Max Towing Weight (unbraked) 400 kg
