and may be worth a few bob too when the supermarkets petrol stations take your number plate and record which pump you are about to use why dont they programme the pump only to deliver your pre programmed fuel you could go on line and register . the benefit to to supermarket is your loyalty at the pumps
the idea is you regiter your vehicle with the company when you pull onto their forecourt their surveilenc system reconises you vehicle and only allows the correct fuel to be dispensed at your pump
ideal if like me you have diesel and petrol vehicles some times when a bit weary you might try to put the wrong fuel into the wrong vehicle but this sytem will not allow you to
i have e-mailed the idea to sainsbury, asda and tesco but had to phone morrrisons
That site is a joke - you can't actually buy fuel from there:
"This is a parody site, not an actual trading corporation and as such any similarities in names and trademarks are covered by "fair use" provisions of intellectual property laws. Vin Diesel is a very entertaining actor, not a biofuel."
well it makes me think that they probably send vouchers, I would imagine it would cost a few quid to send a large volume of petrol to your house not to mention health and safety
it sounds pointless, a lot of cost to stop idiots putting the wrong fuel in the car, save the surveillance system for trapping people driving illegally
some companies use other methods to stop idiots using the wrong pump, notable ones are
colour coding
automated verbal message
the nozzle sizes are different so you cant put diesel into petrol (diesel nozzles are bigger)
your system sounds far to expensive for very little benefit
