air bag problems

The light on my Peugeot 106 stays on all the time.
The garage reckons it will cost up to �250 to repair, apparently the seat belt clip/holder & cable have to be replaced.
Fair price or not??

Sounds very expensive, could just be a loose or corroded connection under the seat.

This is a common fault on loads of peugeots-look it up on the net.

My father has this problem with the light of his airbag on, but not all the time. only on certain journeys. The garage has said it is now NOT part of the MOT and is nothing to worry about as it is probably a faulty connection. they didn't say anything about the seat belt clip though. why not try asking another garage and see if you get a different answer. I wouldn't fork out money if it wasn't neccesary.
