Has anyone had their house pebbledashed and if so were you pleased with it? We're thinking about it as my hubbys not too good at climbing anymore. Thanks.

What has that got to do with hubby not being able to climb?  : )
I think you mean not good at climbing a ladder to repaint the front?  My old house was pebbledashed (by previous owners) and I never had problems despite having heard that it causes dampness/surveyors don't like it, etc.  I lived there for 10 years.

FINA - I can see why your husband doesn't want to climb up ladders, my husband is the same. It doesn't bother me though - it must be sometihng to do with my love of paragliding!

Our house is half brick & half pebbledash. We've been here 21 years & the house has never suffered from damp. It's great not having to paint the outside walls of the house.

Some of our neighbours are also thinking of having their forever painted walls pebbledashed. Hope that helps.

Oh thanks for your input hgrove and smudge. I definately want the pebbledashing but my hubby's dithering. I'll show him your replies, thanks again.

Pebbledashing was a reason against buying a house we viewed, we thought it might be hiding something.

You could take photos first to prove there were no cracks.

Our house was built in 1936 & has always been half brick, half pebbledash. We've never had any problems with it.
