How to finish plaster coving at a door frame

My door frames go up to the ceiling and I don't know how to finish them of properly so they look nice. They don't look right with a straight cut but an angled cut doesn't look right either. Any suggestions appreciated

Unusual to have door frames extending to the ceiling, however: -
Try cutting an EXTERNAL 45 degree mitre close to the point of termination of the coving, then fit a second small piece of coving into the gap. It looks like the coving pattern turns 90 degress into the face of the wall where it finishes. The small piece will be only as long as the coving material is deep, if you get my drift.
Repeat on the other side of the doorframe.

I had the same problem, the doors dont go to the ceiling but i have windows above the doors that do (upstairs rooms)...I cut 45 deg and filled and to be honest doesnt look to clever ....but that was a few years ago im a bit wiser now...

It doesn't look great if you just fill the angled cut with filler - do recommend putting the extra piece in - as if the coving actually terminates back into the wall.
It's never going to look fantastic, but it will look finished.

B'smate is spot on. I've fixed loads of coving, & it looks far better than a 90 degree cut. I use a hacksaw when cutting the small piece...plaster coving is very fragile!
