Classical Music
10 Answers
I know that it's been requested before, but In A Pickle has recently highlighted the need for a Classical Music sub-category. (Gromit has also made a positive suggestion as to how 'Music' could be better sub-divided - although I'd like to add 'World Music' to his list):

So when's it going to appear then, Ed?

There are many sub-sections about AB which should be culled because they are little used. Two of the 3 existing sub-sections in music are quiet and could happily be got rid of (no one has asked a question in 'Gigs' for a week).
Music would be much better divided by genre (but not too many). I suggested the following:
Modern / Contemporary
Adverts / films / television
Jazz / Blues
World / Folk
Rock / Pop
Classical

I wholehearetedly agree (and I am led to believe that counts for a lot).
However, grouping of music into genres is a subjective process that has a lot to do with the individual's personal understanding and way of listening to music. This is especially true in sub-genres.
So many people would be coming along asking for a crap section, RnB, hophip, and emu. (sic)
I myself would be wondering up and down the sub categories looking for the easy listening section, only to find that it is in a corner, in the basement of Chatterbank.
