Strange Noises in Manchester

Can anyone else hear the wierd horn like noises round the city centre?

Neil thinks it might be the wind up here (at least it's brightened up after the crazy rain) round the Beetham Tower/Hilton.

Anyone know what it is?

Could it be the vintage military vehicles that are up here for the WW2 weekend in Saddleworth? We' ve been this afternoon- it's a 3 day event- and there's jeeps, tanks, etc with siren type, er,...sirens x
