Straightening Teeth

Although it's hard to imagine trying to straighten teeth naturally, are there any "tips, products or long-term methods" one can try / maintain to help some of their teeth gradually straighten up a bit?
I know professional treatment is the greatest option, but I'm still considering whether the time and expenses needed is worth everything as my teeth are sort of ok upfront.

it depends how strongly you feel about them not being straight! i had two slightly crooked teeth near the front and it really bothered me so i had new type of veneers fitted. they are called thineers and dont cost s much as full veneers, there is no pain in fitting them as they only go on the front of the crooked teeth to build them out. other than that your only other option would be to have a brace fitted which is not a permanent solution as your teeth will inevitably move back to their original position and the cost of a brace would be well in excess on �1000 for full treatment. my thineers cost �400 for 2 teeth and are well worth it compared to nearly �300 per tooth for full veneers. i love smiling now!

Thanks, I didn't actually know about 'Thineers' and will definitely look into it. Do you know if this is something that has to be suggested to you as treatment by an Orthodontist or does this process work for any kind of teeth that needs straightening up? And can I ask where you did yours if you don't mind?

hi i requested information from my own dentist and they suggested it, my problem ws the teeth on either side of my front teeth looked pushed backwards slightly. its a great job! my dentist rook impressions of my teeth and 3wks later i had the thineers fitted. felt so odd at first s it felt like such a mouthful and was afraid to eat.! now am fairly happy to eat most thing but not biting into apples etc as im scared they might ping off! they have a five yr guarantee but was told they can laast up to 10-15yrs so for that small price its well worth it! ask your own dentist if they do it and if not they should be able to recommend somewhere that does, failing that just google thineers and you should be able to find someone close to where you are. im in n. ireland so unless your over here to i cant really recommend anywhere!

Hey again! I'm actually in London, lol, but thanks alot for the advice - I'm definitely going to enquire. I did have go to the Dentists recently though (after a long time) and in the process had a discussion, but small treatments like Thineers were never mentioned/advised (this was before I posted my question). So if I did come across it, I didn't think to look into it either. My problem's similar, the 2 teeth on either side of my upper front layer are raised a little but fortunately they're on the same place on each side. I've also got 1 or 2 teeth at the back that are pushed inwards. It's a shame Thineers arn't permenant but 5 years's is enough to make a difference. I'll probably end up getting them now, lol, glad to know yours' is going well : )
