How do I get old adhesive off quarry tiles

Have just removed lino from kitchen floor and discovered quarry tiles in good condition, apart from the fact that the adhesive from the lino is all over, what is the best way or removing the old adhesive?

Usually a simple solvent ............try white spirit..........
