My Crab apple tree was recently damaged, had its bark stripped off by a friends young dog....will the tree be ok, will the bark grow back, the damage is only on one half of the trunk, the tree is roughly 6 years old, but i am hoping it will recover ?

Providing the damage does not go completely round the trunk you should still get many years of enjoyment from your tree.
