blocking sunlight

The neighbours at the bk of me has furn trees and a few others they r that tall they block the sun light and throughout the day i have 2 put my kitchen light on.
Is there anything that can b dun about this?

yh i have but no joy, i'm on a council esate and their houses are private
Have you sought the Council's advice?

It sounds to me that the trees could be Leylandi, which have always been problematic to neighbours.

You can cut off any branches which overhang your boundary, but you must offer them back to your neighbour. It's an an old law that goes back to the day's when people required wood to fuel fires. (Some folk still do.) It's the tops of the trees which cause a real problem....Ron
Could you contact the council to see if they can approach the neighbours direct?
