I'm going to Japan next month, and wondered if anyone had any tips of things to do what to see etc, bearing in mind i'm only going for a week so will sticking to Tokyo - any suggestions welcome.
a week ago I was told (by a swedish sushi chef, by the way) that if you want to buy one of these fancy japanese chopping knives (which you should) you'd have to do it at the fish market in tokyo (which is worth a visit anyway).
try a shinto shrine. you can make a wish and tie it to the cherry trees they have there. buy a japanese toilet that examines your stool and tells you if your a re healthy or not. but a square frying pan (they use it to make those egg rolls you see in jap restaurants)
