Where Was I? August 10th
8 Answers
If possible, I would like a nudge in the right direction, just a clue, rather than the answer. I really enjoy struggling with the Where Was I? competition, but I have gone wrong somewhere!
I am stuck on clue 5 - a hamlet of 19 letters, birthplace in 1844 of a writer whose works include Fidelis.
And if I am right about the final clue, then I have a letter D which doesn't fit into what I think is the name of the river.
So if anyone is feeling generous and would like to give me just a teeny weeny little clue, I would be grateful!!
thanks

If I'm right with the rest of the puzzle, the third letter should be U. Will send off my answers anyway, but out of curiosity would like to know the name of this hamlet if anyone would be kind enough to tell me.
