All very disturbing. Thirteen of the teams had Korean coaches (and there's the US worrying about Korea having nuclear weapons!) and our top woman was outpointed by an American from Georgia (and not Georgia USA).Should definitely have the opponents dressed in heavy armour and on horseback and our lot shooting at them first, to even the contest up a bit.
Our advantage over the french was the longbow that could fire about six arrows in a minute whilst the french were still using the crossbow that was accurate but took along time to reload compared to a bow. Also at agincourt the french had alot of cavalry which gave the advantage to the archers because they had bigger targets.
The reason the French used the crossbow was that it was easy to use and therefore they didn't have to go to the expense of having a standing army full of archers.
However the crossbow was not that great at a longer distance and as said took a relative age to reload.
And what about poor King Harold shot though the eye with an arrow. Our ancestors came across the channel with William the Conqueror and were the bowmen.
