I'm well past 40 but love a lot of 'new' stuff - Gogol Bordello; Coldplay and Mika is good for cheering me up.
I'm very much enjoying Noah and The Whale's 5 Years Time at the moment.
I think I'm very lucky - I love the old big band sounds, and music from most genres. I won't miss Desmond Carrington's radio show on a Tuesday night.

Actually my serious answer is that yes I listen to some of those I grew up with as a kid, still have a very big soft spot for artists and bands that I listened to in my teens and twenties, but have also liked stuff ever since then and up to today - I especially like the latest club and dance stuff.
BTW, I can't abide Max really!!

I'm in my 50s and I still love music from the late 60s and early 70s. I always liked rock so I like a lot of rock music today. I love Marilyn Manson, System of a Down, Nine Inch Nails for instance but I also like Editors and Muse at the moment. Radiohead and REM are my particular favourites however.
I've just turned 36 and I've got music from new(er) bands like...
The Pigeon Detectives / The Kooks / The Enemy / The Wombats / Kaiser Chiefs / Kasabian / Reverend and the Makers / Lupe Fiasco / Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip.
But I've also got a lot older, more established artists in my CD collection like...
Green Day / Queen / 2Pac / Ice Cube / Oasis / Madness / Terrorvision / Kid Rock / Manic Street Preachers / Fun Lovin' Criminals etc.
I also like listening to 80's stuff as well. It's whatever you feel in the mood for, really

I am 42 and although I like a lot of the Modern stuff like Kaiser Chief, Editors, Coldplay, Anthony and the Johnsons,I still find myself reverting back to some of my favourites from the eighties.
I have alwayd been a big U2 fan, and another of my favourites is the Cocteau Twins.
Stangely, I also find myself liking stuff that I once loathed, like the Rolling Stones,Van Morrison, Neil Diamond, The Smiths.
