driving without due care - am i being screwed?
My partner has received a summons for driving without due care and attention. he had an accident in feb this year. He rides a motorbike and collided with another motorbike. The police spoke to him once on the night of the accident then again 3months later to say they were refering the case to the CPS. between the 3 mths we tried to speak to the police but they did not want to take his statement. We did not receive a notice of intended prosectution within 14 days. is this right? the way his case has been handled seems completly wrong to me. the police have now said he hit another car before hitting the bike which is not true and the police have not spoken to witnesses on his side of the road only th eother rider. how can this be right??? please can someone help?

They took him in an ambulance and the police came to the hospital about 1 am. Took a brief statement then said they would be in touch after his surgery that night. They didn't get back intouch until end of may begining of June. The accident happened in February. They took his statement at home and said they would be closing the case and we wouldn't hear from the PCs investigating again. This is well after 14 days?? he was told when they came round that he hit a car before hitting the other rider. He did not. The car driver has not been in touc with our insurance and we only found this out when they were closing the case. It seems he has been made the criminal and no one would listen to his side! I just don't know what to do.
