The gold medals that Britain win in the Olympics are mostly in sports that seem a bit obscure?
Apart from swimming of course, its the cycling around a funny shaped track on strange looking bicycles that gets me, it's not really a sport like football, tennis or golf etc that thousands play every day is it? :) x Do we ever win anything that i can relate to? :) x

What's a "real" sport then? lol I'm sure all of them feel very proud just to be there! I mean, not everybody excels at what they do (especially if it happens to be an olympic category!). Some sort of recognition for their excellence at the sport means a lot to them, even if it doesn't to you, I guess!
If Britain won the world midge catching championships it would make the main story on the news.
But when a nation that has some of the best facilities in the world are diabolically bad at real sports like football, cricket, tennis, then any straw needs to be clutched at.
PS- any wonder that swimming girl won gold have you seen the length of her nose? who could finish ahead of that.
