children's bus fares Surrey

Please could anyone (living in Surrey) tell me at what age you have to pay for children to travel on the buses.

Yes, I mirror the above response, clematis. I drive buses in Shrewsury, and all under 5s are let on free. Between 5 and 16 it is "half fare" which is actually 70% of an adult fare. I kicked up saying it was too much, but they retorted that it was "fare" enough!

I have a bus pass but am taking my 6 yr old grandson as he wants to go on a bus!!!

You are welcome, I have to save people money on buses, it is my duty to do this. In our town we have a special all day ticket for children. It was �3 until it recently went up to �3.60, and then if you buy this it covers you for the whole day. You could then get your money's worth by spending a whole day on the buses.

I know quite a few kids who want to go for a ride on a bus. When I was at school (don't ask how many years ago) one kid had never been in a bus or train, but had been in an army helicopter!

Depends wether your part of surrey still comes under London fares. Oyster fares are free for people under 16.

No we don't come under London fares we are in the Guildford area.
I did the trip today just showed my pass and we sat down.
No mention was made about the fare for my 6 year old grandson.
