A combination of bad diet and drug abuse.

As a child growing up, Elvis's family were very ppor,.and ate a diet with a huge fat intake - fried everything, loads of butter and fat and syrup. As a rich adult, Elvis never lost the subconcious urge to eat large and often, enjoying the same diet, which meant that he gorged on fats and solids which, had he had sound dietry advice, he would have learned, are harmful over a long period. The diet he ate, combined with a large and heavy drug use since his days in the army meant he put serioous strains on his digestive system, and his heart and other vital organs, which caused his heart fatal attack as he tried without success to empty his solidly clogged bowels one last time.
