I left work at lunchtime yesterday and went home sick. I've got a cold and I feel like poop :-(

Where did the phrase "stinking cold" come from? Do people stink wihen they have a cold? Lol

I don�t think it really �comes� from anything. It�s just an adjective used as an intensive.

Stinking drunk
Stinking rich

Etc�..

Anyway, its probably just a sniffle, nothing compared to man flu which can be fatal without appropriate sofa rest, TV remote control and a maid servant.

Incidentally, if you are stinking, maybe time for some ablutions.....
