i now have a ps3 and love it but i want to know if any one knows if you can updeat it so you can play ps2 games on it if you can help that would be great thanks

just pop the ps2 disc in it will work fine , ive been playing all my old ps2 games on my ps3 for ages.

Only if you have the original 60GB version. You'll probably need to update the software, go to

The newer 40GB version doesn't support PS2 games as far as I'm aware.

The 40GB version does not support backwards compatibility, the 60GB version does. That version is no longer available for general sale, you'll need to buy used from eBay or from one of the game shops.

No the 80GB is not compatible either.

As previously mentioned, only second hand 60GB versions are PS2 compatible.
