I know at the start of "For Your Eyes Only" James Bond (Roger Moore) is at his wifes grave.Bond got married in the movie (On Her Majesty Secret Service) & his wife is killed in that movie.Apart from acknowleding that his wife is dead i wouldn't say the movies are sequals.

I would suggest that they are a set of films, since they have not been filmed in any particular order.

As for which movie has the most sequals would it not be something like the "Friday the 13th" Movies or the "Halloween" movies.

Its got to be Police Acadamy for the record of Most 'Flogging-a-Dead-Horse' Sequels.
Star Trek has ten movies but is debatable as to whether they all count as sequels.
I agree Skids, but what about Puppet Master, I think there's been a total of 7 sequels & prequels
The Friday the 13th series has 10 movies. But after the first Friday the 13th movie there were 8 sequals in the series. The Tenth movie "Jason X" has nothing to do with Friday the 13th pt9 so it's not classed as a sequal.
Although an old film series, Sherlock Holmes with Basil Rathbone was filmed loads!
I'm a fan of the Basil Rathbone "Sherlock Holmes movies" but they are not sequals. They are a set of movies with a different story in each movie.
I don't think James Bond films are classed as sequels, as the character James bond never ages, just like the books. Hence each film would be classed as a new mission for Bond.
