Am globally travelled and resided E-W. The one place of worship I found truly 'open to all - no questions' is the Sikh Gudwarra (temple). Most impressive is their open-house to food. Each & every day there is free food available to anyone without obligation (other than removal of shoes & supplied head covering). U can sleep on floor (at night) for shelter.
Am told the families take turns to prepare food which is donated. Hence few sikhs 'live rough on streets'. For their generosity my extra produce donated to my local sikh-temple (am christian).....oooooooooh and curry & chapatti...whenever!
JockSporran, your first point is nonsensical: The fact that you know of a war that wasn't connected with religion doesn't negate the statement that "religions cause wars" any more than knowing someone who hasn't been shot negates the statement "guns kill people".
