I have two 8 year old cats (brothers) who are very clean and well behaved and not much trouble at all, except for one thing. They WILL sleep on my sofas! We have a cat flap and they have free access in and out all the time, so if it has been raining when I come home from work - need I say more? I have covered the sofas with throws, which constantly need washing. OK, fair enough, but I don't really want them covered up all the time. I've heard there is a spray you can use to deter them from doing this. Any ideas anyone? (I have carpets and fake fur rugs and they have their own fake fur rug to sleep on). Thanks to anyone with any advice.
Well I dont know about anyone else, but my cat Saffy hates anything citrus smelling, so spraying the sofa with a citrus fabric spray keeps her her away. Woolworth's do a nice one.
If they give you as much pleasure and as much love as my cats do, my advice would just be to chill out. In the great scheme of things does it really matter?
I had problems with my (now deceased) cat. She would sleep on my mother's chair and my mum would then sit on a chair that she couldn't get out of without help because she didn't want to disturb the bl00dy cat!! White pepper did the trick. Just a good shake all over the chair. Of course you have to hoover it all up again but after a couple of days the cat got the idea and left the chair alone.
