Am I the only person who doesn't want to drive?

Hi,
Sorry, not sure if I've put this in the right thread or not. I'm 21 yrs old and am pretty certain that I never want to learn to drive. I'm a nervous passenger as it is! My husband drives and I think I can manage without ever learning. Does anyone else never want to drive? Plenty of people tell me I'll regret it if I don't and that they'd feel trapped without having that 'freedom'. I just don't like the thought of being responsible for me and my daughter in a car. There are too many dangerous ppl on the road. The thought of it terrifies me . . .!!!
P.S I know my husband would really like me to learn, I'm trying to get back up from other ppl lol

If you are near good transport links or don't mind walking, then that is great if you are happy with the situation and you are helping the environment too. Personally one of my greatest joys in life is being alone in my car, driving down an empty road with my favourite music on but that is just me! Also, as cazzzz said, the car is a very useful dustbin! There are enough people on the roads already without adding to it if you don't really want to be there and are worried and/or nervous about driving so don't take any notice of anyone saying that you should learn to drive!!!
If you want us to back you up, then we will Miss Cammando, and you can quote us on that. You are one of the few people who are strong enough to admit you do not want to drive, and why should you? There is no law that you have to, and it is getting more expensive by the day. I know many people who do drive but should not in my opinion. It is no mean feat driving on our roads today, and in some parts of the country it is nothing short of a nightmare.
You could always buy a horse as previouly suggested, they do not need tax and petrol. You did not say where you lived in the county Miss C, is it in London, by any chance?

I can't imagine being without a car and not having the freedom of being able to go wherever I like whenever I like. But then, I do live in the middle of nowhere with no public transport whatsoever.
However, many of my friends and relations who have relied on their spouses for transport, and now find themselves alone for various reasons, regret bitterly not being able to drive and are now too old to start learning.
I too am a terrible passenger but a really confident driver!
