I jointly own a house in England with my ex-husband. I want to transfer my part of the deed to his mother so that I know that he will be secure when the times comes that he needs to renew the mortgage. How do I transfer my part of the deed into her name without having to get a lawyer involved?

As there is a mortgage, the mortgage company would have to agree first and foremost.

It would probably mean a whole new mortgage in the name of your ex and his mother. The mortgage company will need to be satisfied that both have good credit scores and can afford the mortgage.

They will also need to get a lawyer involved to protect their interests.
