saving energy

I haven't used gas for over 3wk now (except to cook a quorn burger) and now fresh out of the shower my hair is wet, I'm just about to go and hairdry my hair with electric dryer but I notice it's windy outside.
Am I getting too obsessed with saving power (price of gas/electric) or am I being perfectly sensible and doing the common sense thing. Lavender infused fresh air dryer straight from from the Pennines.

For warm food: Pitta bread goes in my toaster. Ready made fresh curry & microwave rice (no additives, really good and cheeper to buy than make it yourself. Yesterday I made a qourn mince casserole with carrots pots and onion etc (in the microwave).. which usually goes down great but didn't this time (put too much rosemary in) so I wont be bothering again. Love fresh soup too.
Just no fried things (which I didn't anyway) grilled things, pies or pizza.

You can also put your clean laundry under your mattress so you don't have to iron - a good way of saving electricty.
Boiled too much water in your kettle? Keep a large flask by the kettle and pour it into that. Use for washing up.
Making a casserole? Get a tea chest or other large box and fill it with hay. Bring the casserole to a rolling boil, pour into a suitable container, and bury in the hay overnight. By lunchtime, it will be cooked.
Driving on a long journey? Wrap your joint of beef and some large potatoes in lots of tin foil, with a bit of oil. Put in a safe place on the car engine. Secure. When you arrive, serve with salad. :)
