My partner has been trying to find out from the US Customs for several months whether or not he can take a dozen Christmas puddings into the country. As they seem unwilling to give an answer, has anyone here any idea please?

In Florida I was stopped by a 'fruit and veg smuggling' dog which Mr S thought was hysterical ... turned out to be berry scented baby wipes but they were prepared to glove up over it ...can you send them instead.
US customs are, at least by my experiences with them, the surliest, most arrogant individuals I've ever had to deal with. I would say that, unless you have it in writing from them that it's ok, I would'nt attempt to bring them in as , in all likelihood, they will be taken from you.

Would he be allowed to post them then?
Dont know but i'd assume that, after prodding and poking them and subjecting them to a barrage of tests to detect Semtex, ricin, etc, they would be inedible anyway.

That's great, thanks In a Pickle. I think all the things listed just about cover the ingredients of a Christmas pud!

PS Did the info come off the Web? I can't find it myself.
