Scotland??
Don't bother with Lands End as suggested above. It's a long drive and when you get there it is corned off with a barrier that you have to pay to enter. And it's pretty dismal. Not worth it.
A drive to the Eden Project may be worth it but expensive and busy this time of year.
I've been to (I think it was Haven) Perran Sands and it's nice. Lots of nice beaches (we looked for sand on the map and headed to a different beach every day). Some coves are amazing. It's quite close to Newquay which is worth a day. We went horseriding too.

seriously, does this look like it's worth a long boring drive and paying to stand here.

lil75 the eden project has never interested me. My friend went just last week and said 'Yea it was ok, really busy and hot" so knowing her she wasn't too impressed but maybe it just wasn't her thing. You have to be interested in plants I think. http://www.edenproject.com/plan-your-visit/gro up-bookings/index.php but recommed it over Lands End which is the equivallent to that other most miserable uk place Ffestiniogg in Wales.. Stay away.
