Bailiffs
Our landlord owes money to a company and they have now said that they are sending Removal Contractors to his address.
We have no connection with this debt in anyway shape or form.
Can Bailiffs gain entry to a property without permission? And can they take another persons property despite the fact that these persons are not connected to this debt?

im in a simular situation with the bailiffs saying they are going to call at my girlfriends house and take things from there,as they know i stay there with her.
they need to find out who's name is on the rent book,and are not aloud entery.
so if you show them that you rent the house off thim and all the property is yours,then they will not gain entery.
but "DONT LET THEM IN IN ANY WAY OR THEY WILL MAKE AN INVONTORT OF THE ITEMS IN THE HOUSE"

bailliffs can only enter a property if they are let in or there is a viable port of entry e.g. an open window. to force entry, they must have a warrant and police to accompany them. if your landlord has let an unfurnished house, contact the company, inform them that there is nothing there of value belonging to the landlord and give them his address. send them a copy of the tenancy agreement for good measure too. try not to worry (i know easier said than done!), but they really haven't got a leg to stand on here. you must make sure you have copies or proofs that you are the tenant, though, and i would keep them close to hand just in case. be wary of opening the door if it is knocked/the doorbell goes and look out the window or something to see if you recognise the callers and just don't open the door. good luck!!!

We share a house and only pay for the food, gas and electric so we do not pay rent per se.
The only problem we have is that we do not have receipts for things like our tv, dvd, freeview etc and the company involved said we had to prove it, plus this company who shall remain anon were quite rude to me. Well we have been homeless since we bought those things and in the process of leaving our previous place thought it illogical to keep things like receipts as they were a year or so old.
We also have an appointment in town tomorrow (when the bailiffs are expected) so have to exit the house as we will not be able to afford to get the food this week which will result in 3 hungry tummies!
Can bailiffs make their way in when we leave or not????
