A child called C

Has anyone read this book?, I bought it at the airport to read on my holidays, it was so gruesome and unbelievable I couldn't put it down and I admit I shed a tear to think this could and did really happen to the poor children who were brutally tortured, My question is how did the authorities not intervene and help those children years sooner.

Hi xxJodie14xx, when I got back from my hols I brought this book back to let my sister read it, I have eventually googled this awful story and almost ordered the book from Amazon, but then thought it wud be to similar towhat I had read so have ordered several others apparently similar, I believe "A child called it gave many people the courage to tell their story, I know all abuse books are not fact but fiction, but I thought if I got the book you had read it would be too similar, but like you I literally had to put the book down and I cried, my hubby who isnt into books even listened to the parts I read to him, u must read child c, apparently he suffered most can not have children even though the sexual abuse claims were not taken anywhere and stood by this creep all along, maybe we can swap books u can read mine me yours, for sum reason i have nowgone onto amazon and ordered quite a few sad books dont know if they are all true stories, mad but I am normally an animal person and read about them but to read this absolutely crippled me with pain x
I read this book on Saturday, finished in a day cos i couldn't put it down either.Sadly kids are still slipping through the net and authorities go on apologising. But when you have someone as sly as his "MOTHER" its all to easy to fob them off.I hope Christopher gets very rich from writing his story .It in no way compensates but at least it will make the rest of his life easier than the 1st 19years.
God Puddicat I didn't know that how sad, but he did say towards the end of his book that she is still his mother which shows the damage has already been done. Some muppit on Arts & Literature on a similar thread tothis said he was only after the money and another said it was all lies and he thaught he would write a make a believe book, how sick that made me feel. As I said in an earlier post the folks on Body and soul obviously are muck kinder,
