Parking near corners
3 Answers
I live in the last house beforre a corner, in fact my property goes all around the front of the house and around the corner also. My next door neighbour parks his commercial vehicle half across the front of my property about 10-15 feet before the corner. This reduces the vision of any driver going either way of what other traffic or cyclist, pedestrian etc. Is this illegal?

Apart from contravening the 30' rule (which no cops ever seem to worry about!), if he is parked there regularly he could be contravening the terms of his Operators Licence, as vehicles should be parked in suitable and usually nominated off road parking areas when not in use. Have a look in the windscreen and there should be another disc the same size as a tax disc. It will probably be blue or green, but could be orange or white as well. Take the number on the bottom of the disc (in the form OA 123456 [It will always start with an O]) and Operator name and together with the vehicle reg, report it to your local Traffic Area office. Here is a list, just look for your county in those covered by each office. http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosacorp/contactus/vosa locations/trafficareaoffices.htm
