getting my money back

i recently split with my girlfriend i moved out. She owes me the sum of �1000 she says she will payme back as soon as possible by paying what she can each month i gave her my bank details to start paying me back as of yet i have not recieved a penny. After we split i lent her rent money which was �380 the rest of the money is made up from a laptop i bought for her on the understanding she would pay me back each month and �250 on doing the house up again she said she would pay me back what i want to no is if she fails to make any of these payments what can i do to get my money back ??

It was very kind of you and very trusting too, you will have to hope she is as decent as you are and pays up, albeit in instalments. I dont think there is anything you can do legally.

You could chase it through the courts - the outcome will depend on if you can prove all of it was not a gift and the intention from the start is that she would pay you back.

If she says they were all gifts, there is really very little you can do.
