A long shot, but just wondered if there was any ABers who can remember a programme on TV about perhaps a year or two ago called Bouncers I think, documenting the lives of a few doormen or indeed bouncers. It was shot in Leeds I think,if memory serves.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanking you in anticipation..

This would be from a stage play by John Godber, who runs the Hull Truck Theatre Company. If you Google him I'm sure you'll find more about this TV adaptation.

i think i remember this wasnt dave courtney the gangster featured in this because thats what he used to do and he now has his own doormen business

Thanks to both of you but I'm informed it was a documentary, and I don't believe the one I'm referring to featured Dave Courtney (I think I remember that one myself..)...Many thanks though for your efforts...Oz

Wasnt it shot in Bristol?....sure that they went to Weston Super Mare once too.....They  would all wade in in an 'A-team' like way as the doors of the van opened!!!

One of the doormen was quite old but loved it.

Yes coffers1...that sounds like it...any idea on where I could find out more about it mate?

Not a particularly helpful answer, but was it the one where the bouncers were relatively old for bouncers, and there were long sequences of them being driven to/from venues in a minibus wearing their penguin suits?

There was also a scene where the bouncers' manager was boasting about an incident where a very drunken lady had been evicted from a club but not hurt and she had been looked after.  The manager kept emphasising how glad he was that 'that Lady will be safe'.  He was trying to improve the image of the door staff profession by emphasising their role in 'safety' rather than 'agro'.

Can't remember anything else, sorry, and might be another series altogether.
