How long can a breast fed baby go with out pooing!
He normally poos quite a lot, and seems a bit distressed by it all.. its been about 40 hours now (not that im counting!) He is 3 months old.
Any one know of any ways off getting them to go.. my
M I L says put some soap up his bottom, but that seems a little barbaric...

But saying that a breast fed baby can go a few days without pooing.
Its warm at the moment, a baby would normally get all the fluid it needs from breastmilk and not require any cool boiled water but it wont hurt to try him with an ounce (fed from a spoon if you dont have bottles) if you feel hes dehydrated

I found a tin of chocolate pudding worked well with my daughter I think anything thats sugary helped but just reading your post he is only 3 months old and probably not weaned yet, so i would definatly go for the orange juice that was also what I was reccomended hope you have had some joy by now though x x
is baby in discomfort? is he still taking his feed?
