Soap...bottom! Absolutely no way, never heard of that before, I imiagine it would sting!

Try giving him so boiled water, not hot obviously but boil some water and leave it to get to room temperature, should do the trick...ah poor baby! x
That was meant to say some boiled water! Sorry, im on another planet 2day!
My daughter's health visitor advised her to use boiled water with a little bit of soft brown sugar in it when her son was constipated,it worked a treat.
water with a tiny bit of brown sugar or a very small amount of fresh orange juice.

But saying that a breast fed baby can go a few days without pooing.

Its warm at the moment, a baby would normally get all the fluid it needs from breastmilk and not require any cool boiled water but it wont hurt to try him with an ounce (fed from a spoon if you dont have bottles) if you feel hes dehydrated

cheers guys... dont worry, i didnt try the soap, but will def give the sugar or orange in water a go!
its actually ok if they dont do a poo for a week after that i would see a doctor. as long as he is weeing normally he will be ok
I found a tin of chocolate pudding worked well with my daughter I think anything thats sugary helped but just reading your post he is only 3 months old and probably not weaned yet, so i would definatly go for the orange juice that was also what I was reccomended hope you have had some joy by now though x x
Our little man is 11 weeks old, he only fills his nappy once every two to three days. I asked his gp if this was ok and she said it was perfecty normal with a breast fed baby as long as the nappies are wet.
is baby in discomfort? is he still taking his feed?
I agree with daffy654 answer.

this might help
