I am moving into a smaller house soon and to make the sitting room appear larger I was thinking of painting the inside windows frames white. They are dark brown at the moment and look new. Anyone done this and what were the results???

You can buy white paint specifically for uPVC. I've used it to 'brighten' up some old, stained uPVC windows (they wouldn't clean up even with a mild abrasive cream cleaner) with good success. I used the Dulux version - I am sure other manufacturers make it too. Very little preparation apart from a clean surface to apply it to.
QVC the shopping channel also used to sell a product for changing the colour of UPVC from say white to brown or nay other colour . Check out their website qvc.co.uk
