What is the most stupid remark you've ever made on the phone?
I was calling the DVLA with a question about the log book to my 'new' car when the operator read me out the address to send it to. The first two letters were in the style of D for Delta, etc, then I misheard the next bit and found myself saying 'Was that P for parchment?' There was a short silence at the other end and then she said (in a beatiful welsh accent) 'No - department'. ..... She must have been laughing her socks off. Cue it appearing on the internet for 'most stupid comment'.

Anyway, they said to the operator: That's Appleton (two p's) and a letter came to them addressed as
Mr Joe Bloggs
Any Street
Appleton Two Peas
(You get my drift).
Well I thought it was funny anyway.
