lol
seeing that you'll be sitting next to the router - connect with a cable .... and hey-presto.
You'll always get losses .... ethernet is built as a collision domain - so the theory is ... you keep sending until it gets through.
in this case .... to complicate matters .... you're using wireless ... the idea of wireless is to broadcast as far as possible .... while this is good for you .... it's not good for everyone round you .... cause your transmission interferes with every one else's - so to get their own back they interfere with yours.
(think of a tray of water ... if you are in the middle .... and drop a stone ... you get a beautiful circular pattern ....
drop two stones ... and there is a crossover area
slap in a hand full of sand ... and it's like being in an estate full of routers.
and it's not just routers .... microwaves, tellys, fridges, washers, walls blah blah blah all add another grain or two.
wireless is good ... in a field .... as soon as you add a wall or two ... neighbours, appliances ... it's useless - even if you become an expert (depending on your surroundings) there may not be a good solution .....
wire on the other hand kicks bottom ... it works up to 20 times faster ..... it works!
