In summary, nobody knows why Tollund man's mangled corpse ended up in a bronze age bog in what later became Denmark. However it has been suggested that he was a human sacrifice as he is 'well presented' ie clean shaven and well cared for and has been 'killed three times' - by whacking on the head, cutting his throat and garrotting him.
