Mice in the house??
6 Answers
My next door neighbour is feeding a (in his words) "Cute little field mouse" on his patio wall, right next to my patio. I have already opened the doors to a mouse sitting on the mat and I'm frightened to death they are going to get in the house. I've seen them climb walls and its got to the point I'm even keeping my windows shut! Does anyone know of anything that keeps mice away, apart from a cat??
I have pointed out to my neighbour that putting all his old food scraps on the patio will encourage goodness knows what, but he says he's an animal lover!

If you don`t get rid of it/them you will be soon invaded & they`ll breed in the house, especially with the cooler weather coming. When the building next door was demloished, they got in by way of the 3rd floor of our house!! They kept waking me up in the middle of the night. I know it`s illegal to release trapped squirrels elsewhere, but not sure about mice & rats. Best not to tell anyone what you`re up to if you go this route!
You should report your neighbour to the local council as this can cause health problems if vermin infestation gets out of control. Also do not use humane traps as you then have to release the mice which just moves the problem onto someone else. Use an old fashioned mouse trap baited with peanut butter - not cheese. You can also buy a plug in mouse deterrent from Homebase which does help.
