The Daily Express prints a prize cryptic crossword every day. On Sundays it is slightly different, with general knowledge and cryptic clues giving the same answer. Does anyone know how I would find out how many people actually send off their answers each day? Is the newspaper obliged to offer this kind of information under the Freedom of Information Act? They do print the winners details but not the numbers taking part.
Sorry I don't know about the cryptic crossword in particular, but the Sunday Express Crossword Magazine has some 35,000 + entries (on average) throughput via the post. Keep trying though - it's easier than doing overtime as long as you're the lucky ONE.
